Form-in-Place Gasket Application
Form-in-Place gaskets are a process in which an un-cured elastomer is applied to a sealing face and then allowed to cure. A conductive EMI Shielding gasket or Environmental Seal is applied directly onto enclosures, mouldings and covers. Our Form-in-Place gaskets are dispensed using highly accurate CNC machinery.
UVOX MP Series of compounds has been specially developed for form-in-place gaskets. They consist of a silicone elastomer and, often, a filler. The filler comprises µm-scale conductive particles.
The silicone elastomer is unaffected by most temperature changes and has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +200°C.
The MP Series of compounds are RTV. They provide a safe method of curing when applied to sensitive materials or enclosures. This is especially true for PCBs which can often be damaged by high temperatures or humidity.
